Home Sweet (temporary) Home

Well, we made it! Our flight landed around 1pm on Saturday and I survived my first taxi ride EVER to get to our house. That was not the best experience since our driver was lost...but we eventually got here. Our family is great! I will definitely be getting spoiled a little while I am here. (Mom...I apologize in advance for the expectations I will have when I get home ;) )

Mi Casa

We got to go on our first adventure yesterday with our family! They were invited to go visit some of their friends, so our house mom told us that we were coming with them! It was almost a two hour car ride to get there, but that was very interesting. The whole time I was just looking around and taking it all in (and trying to read as many signs as I could). Y'all, this is a beautiful country! There are some of the coolest mountains I have ever seen. I can't even begin to fully explain how pretty all the views are, and the pictures just do no justice. When we got to the house we were going to, I was speechless. When was the last time you walked into a gorgeous house just to walk out the back door to a pool with the backdrop of mountains and valleys and a perfect sky? Yeah.

Anyone want to come visit yet?

Today, our house mom dropped us off at the mall for a few hours so we could get some lunch and just walk around. It is a very nice mall complete with Starbucks, Chili's, Johnny Rockets, Subway, and your typical American fast food restaurants; so don't worry, there is a little bit of "home" within walking distance. She picked us up and then drove us around the area, showing us all the places we could walk to. In an hour or so we are going to walk down to the plaza to get some ice cream! Supposedly the best ice cream ever. I will let you know about that.
